An Interview with Terry Beckett, Treasurer of District 5240
District 5240 has recently implemented MyEventRunner to manage events and accept payments online. In an interview with Terry Becket, the Treasurer and Chair of the Website Committee of District 5240. ClubRunner uncovered how MyEventRunner made event management quick and easy.
When did you first implement ClubRunner?
We have been ClubRunner customers since 2007. Our users were looking to have some further control over our events and security. So after much consideration MyEventRunner was implemented to in July 2009 for the purpose of supporting our Event Planning Committee to introduce online software to streamline registrations and communication. 
How long did it take you to Implement? ClubRunner assisted us with integrating our merchant account, building the form, and also gave us the right training. Their services team helped out a lot and really helped explain all the options with the system. Even when we had issues, the team rallied together and quickly resolved them.
We set it up for the Club Awards and it was very easy, we were very pleased to discover there was an offline option whereby we were able to register people on their behalf to give people the choice of preference all while maintaining our information in one easily accessible place. 
Did you use any other solutions prior to MyEventRunner?
The District actually worked with RegOnline, however the cost to maintain and service was extremely high and was hard to justify. We didn’t believe that there was a solution that was robust, yet cost-effective.
Did you find a difference with MyEventRunner?
First, the cost was entirely different. MyEventRunner is much more cost-effective while being easy to use. Payments were very easy to accept and all of this was configured right into our ClubRunner service. It made working with many members on this simple and no load or heavy project management was required. Everyone was able to pick up where they left off.
How do you feel that MyEventRunner has impacted your District?
The Team behind the product are the right partners and MyEventRunner is the right solution to our Districts goals. They respond to our issues, they address their software accordingly and it is a very sophisticated tool that is being used without the heavy priced options forced to work with before. We no longer keep paper copies of our members’ credit card numbers and believe we have given our members better security, better payment tools, and of course managed this all simply and more effectively.
The solution keeps getting better and has improved from last year, and look forward to working with it again.
